Tarzan at Tuacahn, St. George

Our first stop on our road trip was St. George to see Tarzan at Tuacahn. Hayden saw an ad for the show and talked about nothing else up to the trip! He was so excited he didn’t want to take a nap before we went to the show. He was very tired and I wasn’t sure he was going to make it through the show. But the music and the monkeys kept him very much awake and excited. He had a very good time and I’m so glad we went!

Hoover Dam-2010

Hoover Dam Collage

Since we had to drive over it to get where we were going, we stopped at Hoover Dam. It was extremely hot, and Hayden was incredibly grumpy! I did my best to get some smiley shots, but it was a no go!

They are just about done with the new bridge, but I don’t know that I will want to drive over it once it is done… It’s awfully high up!

I have been reading the Percy Jackson series and in one of the books they go to Hoover Dam and the Angels/Seraphims come to life and rescue Percy and his friends. It is also said that rubbing their toes will bring you good luck.

Arizona 2010-Grand Canyon Stop

Grand Canyon Collage 1

Earlier this year, we got an ad for Tuacahn’s Summer Season, which included Tarzan-Based on the Songs/Story of the Disney version. Hayden LOVES Tarzan and my parents said, why don’t we go, so we ordered tickets and planned a weekend to St. George.

That led to my parents deciding that they wanted to visit the new Gila Valley Temple near Safford, Arizona where my dad was born. We decided to make a trip of it and stopped at Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Safford, and Tombstone, Arizona in a 6 day 5 night road trip.

It was a lot of driving, and Hayden was a GREAT traveler…. although, once we got out of the car it was so hot he just wilted and turned grumpy and anti camera! But we had a wonderful time!
